ANSWR.fyi is a tenant defense information and document assistance platform. We are not a law firm. We exist to help tenants understand their rights, identify their documents, calculate their deadlines, and generate the legal paperwork needed to respond to eviction proceedings — for free.
When this policy says "ANSWR," "we," "us," or "our," we mean the ANSWR.fyi platform and the people who built it.
We collect only what we need to help you. Here's exactly what that means:
Information you give us directly:
Information collected automatically:
We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email, or any identifying information unless you choose to give it to us.
We use your information for one purpose: to help you.
When you upload a document to ANSWR, it is processed to identify what type of document it is and extract relevant information to help you — deadline dates, notice type, named parties, and similar details needed to generate your response.
We do not store your uploaded documents permanently. Documents are processed in your session to generate your Answer and are not retained in a database linked to your identity.
If you choose to save your case, connect with an attorney, or use a premium feature that requires ongoing access to your documents, we will tell you clearly what is being stored and why — and you will have the ability to delete it at any time.
We use minimal, essential cookies to keep the platform working — remembering where you are in the onboarding process, for example. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use tracking pixels that follow you across other websites.
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as aggregate, anonymized usage statistics) to understand how people use ANSWR so we can improve it. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
One of ANSWR's core features is helping you find vetted tenant rights attorneys, legal aid organizations, emergency housing resources, and public benefit programs. Here's exactly how that works and what it means for your privacy:
ANSWR is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to our platform, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Under California law (CCPA) and general privacy principles we believe in regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page and — if the change affects how your existing information is used — we will notify you directly if we have your contact information.
We will never change this policy to weaken your privacy protections without being completely transparent about it. That's a commitment, not just a legal formality.
